LEAGUE LEAFLET
Daily Offering
God, our Father, I offer you my day.
I offer you my prayers, thoughts, words, actions, joys and sufferings in union with your Son Jesus Christ, who continues to offer himself in the Eucharist for the salvation of the world.
the Holy Spirit, who guided Jesus, be my guide and my strength today so that I witness to your love. With Mary, the mother of our Lord and of the Church, I pray especially for this month’s intentions as proposed by the Holy Father…
MARCH 2009
That all nations of our world may grow in appreciation of the dignity and value
of women and their roles within society.
That all the bishops, priests, consecrated persons and laity of the Catholic
Church in the People’s Republic of China, guided by the letter sent to them by
Pope Benedict the 16th, strive to be signs and instruments of unity,
communion and peace.
Getting Int Heaven
A man dies and goes to heaven. Of course, St. Peter meets him at the Pearly
Gates. St. Peter says, "Here's how it works. You need 100 points to make it into
heaven. You tell me all the good things you've done, and I give you a certain
number of points for each item,
depending on how good it was. When you reach 100 points, you get in."
"Okay," the man says, "I was married to the same woman for 50 years and never
cheated on her, even in my heart."
"That's wonderful," says St. Peter, "that's worth three points!"
"Three points?" he says. "Well, I attended church all my life and supported it's
ministry with my tithe and service."
"Terrific!" says St. Peter. "That's certainly worth a point."
"One point!?"
"I started a soup kitchen in my city and worked in a shelter for homeless
veterans."
"Fantastic, that's good for two more points," he says.
"Two points!?"
Exasperated, the man cries. "At this rate, the only way I'll get into Heaven...
is by the grace of God."
"Great... that's worth 100 points!" says St. Peter. "Come on in!"
